Rental of the West Tower Sleeps 5
The West Tower of the Château is a completely self-contained apartment which sleeps up to five
people and comprises the original gatehouse and west tower.
It is entered over the drawbridge, across the courtyard, and through the stone-vaulted entrance hall of
the fourteenth-century keep (which is not itself included in the let).
Please note: with the moat on all sides and a steep stone spiral staircase, the
West Tower of the castle is not suitable for children under 6.
The accommodation, all of which overlooks the moat, is as follows:
Ground Floor
There is a small entrance hall, with coat and boot racks; and a downstairs W.C. with toilet and
wash-basin.
The dining room, once the gatehouse, retains its vast granite fireplace, and the walls are painted
red with gold fleur-de-lys.
The delightful kitchen is well-equipped with double sink, gas oven/cooker, dishwasher and
large fridge/freezer.

First Floor
Steep spiral stone stairs (which may be a problem for the elderly) give access to a twin bedroom
in the tower hand-painted with scenes from the Bayeux tapestry, with two single beds.
The staircase continues to a sitting-room with a sofa that converts to a double bed. This room also has hand-painted
walls with a quatrefoil theme.
The bathroom is just beyond, and has toilet, basin, bath
(with hand-shower), large cupboards and a washing machine.

Second Floor
The stairs continue to a second bedroom with a double bed, under
the roof-beams of the tower, and with hand-painted walls in a heraldic theme.

Swimming Pool and Garden
Outside, there is a terrace with table and chairs, and a private
walled garden with lawn and flowerbeds.
All guests are free to enjoy the tranquil grounds of the Château; to boat and fish in the moat;
to use the swimming pool, badminton, croquet, ping-pong, boules, etc.; to play golf and tennis or go
windsurfing and riding – all very nearby; . . . or just to relax and
absorb the calming sense of history which pervades the Château.
Please note that the West Tower is fully self-catering: it is not serviced daily, although a cleaning
service can be provided on request at a supplement
