Château de Tennessus is located 7km north of Parthenay in the department of Deux-Sèvres, which in turn lies 50km due west of the city of Poitiers.
Driving times: the Château is less than one hour from the TGV station at Poitiers (trains to Paris Montparnasse take one-and-a-half hours), three hours from St Malo and Bordeaux; four hours from Paris; less than five hours from Caen; and less than six from Cherbourg and Le Havre.

From Paris: (point 1 on the map) take the A10 autoroute to Poitiers (exit 29). Take the N149 to Parthenay, and continue on the N149 towards Bressuire. About 7km north of Parthenay (just after crossing the Cebron), turn right onto the D127 (signposted Tennessus). The Château is the first turning to the right.
From Bordeaux and the South: (point 2 on the map) take the A10 autoroute to Niort (exit 33). Skirt round Niort, following signs to Parthenay, and continue north on the D743. In Parthenay, follow signs to Bressuire, and continue north on the N149. About 7km north of Parthenay (just after crossing the Cebron), turn right onto the D127 (signposted Tennessus). The Château is the first turning to the right.
From St. Malo and Brittany: (point 3 on the map) take the route Rennes - Nantes - Bressuire, following signs to Poitiers. About 25km south-east of Bressuire on the N149 (approximately 4km after the turnings to Amailloux), turn left onto the D127 (signposted Tennessus). The Château is the first turning to the right.
From Caen/Le Havre/Cherbourg: (point 4 on the map) From Caen/Le Havre/Cherbourg: take the route Alencon - Le Mans - Saumur. From Saumur take the N147/D938 south past Montreuil-Bellay and Thouars. In the centre of the village of Lageon, about 30km south of Thouars, turn right onto the D127 (signposted Tennessus). After about 3km, pass the Château on your left, and turn left into the drive immediately after it.
