Château de Tennessus
Poitou Charentes, FranceRestoration of the Third Floor of the Keep
In December 1999 we were given approval to undertake our project to restore the top floor of the keep. This has resulted in two important developments:
![]()
- the creation of a third bed and breakfast room (complete with private WC/bathroom and kitchenette), which is similar in size to the two existing rooms, and just as attractive: although it does not have a fireplace, it has magnificent views in every direction and a spectacular ceiling.
- the re-establishment of a walkway around the parapet at the very top of the keep, with panoramic prospects over the surrounding countryside.
Plans
Detailed architectural plans were drawn up and agreed with the French State architect – see below, together with an artist’s impression of the new roof structure.
